Finally

So after complaining for ages without moving my lazy behind I signed up for a gym..but only for a trail period. The local community centre was having a special and I bought a one month pass for 23 bucks. I've looked at and rejected three other gyms because a) they refused to have a monthly pass -- it was only yearly contracts 2) I would like to pay by cash and the gyms insisted on having my account info...no way!!! c) all of them were over $40 (I can't afford that...I'm a broke student).

So I dragged my new mom friend to come with me and today would be our first workout at the gym and I'm looking forward to it. If I like it I plan on going for the rest of the year Inshallah.

My goals?
  1. Get rid of the muffin top look - yuck
  2. Flat stomach
  3. Toned arms & legs
  4. Overall weight loss
  5. Strength & flexibility

I know that all of this can't be accomplished in a month (disappointing isn't it) but that's what I'm looking to day for this year.

Dreamer, hon, congrats. First, buy slippers and never, ever set foot on their floors. People are disgusting!

    1. Don't do weights before you've been shown how to do them. In fact, skip those bulky machines altogether. Gyms make their money from people signing up and then injuring themselves (excellent thing you did with the monthly membership).

    2. When doing cardio on a bicycle, treadmill, or stairclimber, opt for a speed interval setting. This changes speed from slow to fast. It is great for conditiong and getting strong. Manual settings will become ineffective fast for your muscles.

    3. Since you're paying, make sure you commit to 15-20 workouts per month. Even if you have to do 2 or 3 on your days off, do it.

Let us know how it goes and take secret pics of steroid freaks!
