Little Fashionista
How sad is it that I frequently borrow clothes from and get fashion advice from my 13 year old sister? She is the most fashionable person I know...honestly she used to throw temper tantrums when she was little if my mom suggested she wear something she didn't think looked 'pretty enough'. She used to change her outfits three or four times a day as a toddler and now she is so stunning and is up with everything that is going on. If I am about to head out somewhere and she tells me to go back and change something...I most often do...because she turns out to be right and knows what she is talking about. In my case, I go out blinding people with my mismatched clothes, wearing whatever is comfortable and there instead of going for looks, and until recently I didn't care about shopping or how I dressed.
She is slowing changing me. I mean...I don't want to be known as the sister of the pretty girl! No way, no how.
I love borrowing her cute black T&A sweatshirt, navy blue satin ballerina flats, pretty hijaabs and shirts. Most of the time...without her knowing ;)
I can't believe I missed all the fun of being feminine & a total girly girl. There is a lot of catching up to do for sure.

having something T&A in ur city is a right of passage. and im ashamed to say...i got my first piece of clothing from there last week. this long winter jacket. and the only thing that makes me not feel guilty that i betrayed myself is....I DIDNT PAY FOR IT. it was that or seriously freeze here. not like ur beutiful city where it just rains, and 3 sweaters is all u need instead of a true winter coat.
and ppl here, when they first met me, i used to be dressy, compared to the sweatpants grl u knew me as. and ONLY cuz of the job i had. and then i returned to jeans and sweaters. and when i put on something even ok looking, people r like "OMG, woooow" loooool. they make me laugh. or how ppl comment bout "u lost weight" but its only cuz im not wearing 500 layers and sweats.
but yea, COMFORT OVER STYLE!! i love it how people here r obsessed over pashmina scarves. its rediculous. and over lululemon and aritzia. LOOOL. oh well.
and i called Sh the day she got out of hospital. she said she had a pretty easy time with the whole thing, ONLY 4 HRS. but alhamdulillah shes doing good. its been a hard time for her.
ps--so when r u gonna pop ur 1st 1? hahaha.

I skipped my teenage years and now feel like dressing up. With my recent weight loss, I feel like I have more options.
I bet you are an awesome sister to have!

i just found out about her mom. me and N were debating about calling her today. S (richmonds)mom called my house right after the funeral, and was like go talk to ur frnd. but its soo awkward calling Sh in the same week, 1st congratulating her on 1 of the most joyous days of her life, and now the saddest all in the same week. and about the husband/baby, thats exactly what my mom said. then she told me i was soon to be expired in a week, and to go find a hubby.
i think ima wait around for a few days, and then call her. im sure there will be a looot of ppl visitng Sh and her famz, and things will be hectic.
