Blogger name...
(Image from here)Wherever I happen to be, I am always looking out the window, wishing I was someplace else far away. Filling my head with dreams of how I want my life to be or just thinking of things I know will never be realized. That's why I call myself the Lonesome Dreamer. Surrounded by family, friends and people...I sometimes feel completely alone and misunderstood (insert teenage angst song here).
How did you come up with your blog name? Does it mean anything or is it just something random that popped into your head?

Hello you! Feeling any better? It sounds like you've been flying low recently. May I urge you to spread your wings a little, flap them a little more and aim for higher ground? Tell me if I'm being too vague with my metaphors.
Ok, back to the topic...
There wasn't a particular thought process behind my blog title. I called it 'Oh!' because I have a habit of saying that a lot. 'Flimsygossamer' on the other hand came from a period when I was fascinated by some particular fabrics and textiles. Don't ask and I won't tell.

Dreamer, hope you're feeling better, hon. Feeling alone when surrounded by so many people is not great but hopefully the cloud will lift soon. Many people (including yours truly) find spring and summer, despite the long days and sunshine, to be particularly difficult seasons.
My name is a nick given by my grandmother, the one I wrote about. Apparently, I was the most hyper as a kid, destroying people's furniture and disappearing if anyone cracked open a window. It was like I were a prisoner or something. There was a search party once for 4 year old me in a huge district. I just wanted to go, man. She called me a sign or Aya from God. Of what, I don't know.

Dreamer hun,
I am so sorry that you are feeling low. I would say, join the club in my usual sarcastic self but I don't want you to join it. So hope you snap out of it soon).
AMTAF! is my name spelled backwards and is a nickname that my younger brother gave me years ago. It never stuck but I use it as my email, and blog name. I had WORLD CITIZEN before and sometimes I do revert back to that. The reason behind that is simple. I have a huge identity crisis: I have lived in so many places that I don't know where I am from anymore. And yeah I know, I can say Somalia - but I have never been there. So how much does being Somali really mean to me?
The URL is self-explanatory. My dad used to say 'a pessimist is a well-informed optimist' so taking that I switched my usual cynical self for a confused optimist.
With that said, I am waiting to hear better and happier news from your end.

Thanks for the well wishes all! I appreciate it...but the fact that I'm blogging about my blues should indicate that it's not too serious. I'm gonna be ok, inshallah. Just need to get the french connection uk out of this town and breathe. :)
FF: Um...when have you not been vague? Esp with the textiles. Some kind of fetish? Hmmm.
UnheardPhil: Thanks.
Aya: I always thought Aya was short for Ayaan. Interesting...Aya as in verse? Like aayada Quraanka?
Queenie: Knew you were lurking..haven't checked email in weeks walahi. I'll respond as promptly as I can. Which means very soon.
Amtaf: I'm pretty sure most Somali kids living in dibada have identity issues. It's pretty cool that you've been alot of places though...I'm a restless soul and i hate being tied down at one place too long. As of now...since living with family no choice...but I always wanted to move around. I guess it's not all rosy as I imagine it to be.

Erm, I bet you feeling loads better now. My blog went through different names phases my fav was reasons for madness. I think its self explanatory things in this world are enough to drive you bonkers and I was chronologically putting then down. Serenity of the Soul is the more intune me that is emerging but I am pretty sure one of these days I will have a change of personality. The name of the site is my name and its my spot. B breezy.
