Blogging and privacy

Completely bored, I surfed the Internet today and googled ‘blogging’ and ‘privacy’, a topic that’s been interesting to me for a while now, when I came across this and this. So I’m thinking, how do you feel about blog privacy? I know that most of the people whose blogs I read don’t name their jobs, work places, cities, or post pictures of themselves, but would you be comfortable with your boss, a friend, or a family member finding your blog? If you talk about someone in your blog, whether a friend or family, do you think that person has a right in seeing that and demanding that you remove it if they don’t like it?

I don’t know why people would have their real names on their blogs, in the age of Google, it’s just so simple to find people in the blink of an eye. I think some of the people I’ve read about have been really stupid - if your insulting people or your job, make sure you cover your tracks well. I wholeheartedly agree with firing them - I don’t think it’s fair to force the employer to pay someone who goes home and tears them and their company down, and so publicly where it could affect the business and the employer’s reputation.

I hope this is a lesson to us all. Our every action does have an effect, whether small or big, only time will tell what that effect is or would be. So just be careful.
