I’m presently listening to lectures by Imam Siraj Wahaj and Yusuf Estes, two knowledgeable, charismatic men that hold my attention from the beginning to the end. Inshallah, my goal is to slowly increase my knowledge of Islam by properly researching it myself firsthand and at the same time listening to the wisdom and guidance of those who know more than me. Those who devoted their lives to the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. The Prophet (scw) said ’seek knowledge, even it is in China’. Subhannallah. Knowledge at this day and age is right at our fingertips or can be found quite easily in our local regions, but do we seek it? Of course not, were not lazy and expect to be hand held and lead to everything. Easy is our favourite route in life. You can claim a lot of things, but you cannot use ignorance as an excuse because you have the resources to change that state of mind. It’s our responsibility, not the Imams, to find out about our obligations and the teaching of Islam and implement them into out daily lives.

We should fit our lives into Islam and not Islam into our lives.
